In need of a quick snack before an appointment on Saturday afternoon, I stopped into Trung Nguyen Coffee, a new Vietnamese fast-foody type of place right off the Roppongi crossing by the police box. I already had my mind set on iced Vietnamese coffee and a sandwich, but was surprised to find out just how many types of coffee they actually had.

There are about 9 types of beans to choose from, plus the added options of hot, iced, and with condensed milk. They even have the kind of beans that have been consumed and excreted by a fox for that extra-special flavor profile couldn't go there.

I ended up picking the Culi Special blend, iced, with condensed milk, and a pate and ham sandwich. While there are 9 types of coffee, there are only three types of sandwich, but they also have spring rolls, and they're heavy on dessert items. The coffee was pretty good, although smallish for the price yenand the sandwich was OK but not great. On the other hand, it beat a Big Mac. The 2nd floor is no smoking, and they have a flat-screen TV on the wall with videos of Vietnamese pop music playing.

The food menu was in Japanese only, but the drinks has some English on it, if I remember correctly, and the Vietnamese woman behind the counter speaks some English.
